MAICO Pilot hearing test
The ideal hearing test for children
The little patients acquire the “pilot’s licence” in a playful way. This is associated with a hearing test which, in addition to hearing, also tests speech comprehension. It also shows whether what is understood can also be put into practice. Especially in preschool children, serious hearing damage can be detected in time.
Through the headphones, the child is asked to show various terms on a picture board: "Show me the teddy bear! The level of difficulty of the tasks is continuously increased as the volume of the sentences spoken is automatically reduced. The test starts at 70 dBHV and ends at 25 dBHV. After the hearing test, the children receive a “pilot’s licence” sticker and proudly leave the practice.
For children of school age and older, a sound audiometer is integrated in the device, with which the hearing threshold can be precisely determined for eight frequencies. This means that the right test is available for every age group. The sound audiometry can be optionally integrated into the practice software.
